Training, encouragement, support is offered for EVERY position
Only have a day or two. Our all camp program can always use some extra hands helping the campers create a project. Volunteering as support staff needs to be prearranged and adults need a current background check through GSWW.
All unit leaders need to commit for the entire week of camp plus pre-camp planning meetings and trainings. The adult with tons of training and support from the team helps lead a unit throughout the week for camp. All leaders are required to spend the night.
Want to volunteer at camp with very little prep work and more behind the scenes? We need someone to help prepare the daily snacks, prep food for units that have requested food, and help maintain the kitchen serenity.
Boys' Unit Leader
This is the position that we would love to find someone(s) that have a heart for working with boys at camp. I think the Unit leaders of boys appreciate this person the most!! The boys have a wonderful energy about them and can be a joy to work with. Boys generally range from 5-11. This unit is typically smaller and can be very flexible with programming. Again, tons of support…and chocolate.
We truly believe that there is nothing better than a week at Camp Oh Ah Lay Lay. There is something so special about getting girls outside, spending most of the day with them learning, experiencing, and growing. Some girls will try things that they have never been exposed to before. Girls will make friendships that they will carry with them after they leave and build confidence in more ways than we can even imagine. A few girls will spend their first night away from home. Campers will make a snack that they will talk about for weeks to come. And girls will sing camp songs for weeks and try to cootie you long after the camp supplies are packed away for the season. And YOU could be part of that!! YOU can make a difference in a camper's life.
